Weekly Agenda June 15-19

Hello Kindergarten Families,
Can you believe in 2 weeks kindergartens will be our new grade one students! This has been one bizarre school year, but one things for certain I'll miss the kindergartens very much, especially since we won't have a proper goodbye! :(

Wrapping up the school year has meant the end of our farm inquiry. Below are a few pictures of students' brilliant work comparing animals similarities and differences.

Students have also been looking briefly at capacity (how much a container can hold). Kindergartens were given the problem where they needed to find a cup that held the most water.  Below is an example of one student work.

Weekly Agenda April 27-May 1

Hello Kindergarten Families,

What a lovely week to celebrate our planet Earth! the sun was shining and the snow is gone! I remember growing up in Edmonton and most evenings in April we would have thunder showers, and the rhyme "April showers brings May flowers" felts so real....now when I say this to my kids I don't think they quite understands rain actually fell in April and not snow... *sigh* somethings I miss!

Before I share our Student Learning Agenda for this week, I would like to highlight some wonderful student work.  They have tried to sound out the words, colored and labelled to show their best work!

Hello Kindergarten Families!

I'm not sure about you but this last week flew by! Before I knew it, Friday was here (much needed no less :))!  I would like to thank all of you again for your patience as I navigate through the online classroom. This has been a learning curve for me but I am glad to say I am getting the hang of it, as I'm sure some of you are too!

Next week we celebrate Earth Day on April 22.  Its a day to appreciate and understand all that the Earth does for us! Please take some time next week to appreciate the great outdoors and speak with your kindergartens on how we can best preserve our Earth for future generations!

Lastly thank you to all the students who submitted pictures and videos of their work! I really enjoyed taking a look at all your hard work! 💖

Weekly Agenda for April 6-10

Hello Kindergarten families,

Below is a weekly lesson plan for April 6-10.  All activities can be done in any order.  Tasks do not have to be completed at once and can be broken down further.  For example, literacy tasks can be broken down as so- Monday you can focus on reading the story, Tuesday can be retell, Wednesday can be drawing and coloring and Thursday can be labeling and writing the sentence.  Kindergartens have short attention spans and we highly recommend brief instructions, then work on the tasks, followed by a body break.

Also Please take some time to check out our Music and Gym blogs. They are as follows:

We understand there are siblings that need to share technology and that activities are flexible based on what fits into the family schedule.

Thank you for your continual support in your child’s learning. I know we will be successful as a team and am excited to get started! J

Note- If you have not already joined our Google classroom PLEASE do so and practice logging on with your child. Links are provided on the right side. Thank you to those families who have joined our classroom!
